I was out for my morning run in what I thought was a safe neighborhood near my home when a stranger jumped out of the bushes, grabbed me, threw me down and raped me. I was 40 years old. I am a mom and a teacher and enjoy art and running.

I find it self-healing and empowering knowing that I am helping others when sharing my story.
