I was sexually abused by an acquaintance when I was 17 years old. There are things survivors experience that can be tricky to navigate at times, and hard to explain to those that have not experienced it.  

I had this strong desire to share what had happened to me, and the Survivors Speak program gave me the tools to do so. I don't think you ever "get over" something like this happening to you, but I can say I am in a much different place than before. The program helped me heal. I also like knowing that I'm making and impact, especially when I speak at high schools or colleges.
