Enhanced Education for Law Enforcement
“Duty Trumps Doubt”
Jane Doe No More has identified the need for highly-focused and enhanced training tools that will improve the effectiveness of first responders to a sexual assault crime. We have been working on this initiative since our inception in 2007. Thanks to an incredible team of professionals who have donated their time and talent, Duty Trumps Doubt, a training video produced by Jane Doe No More for law enforcement, debuted at the 2010 International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference (IACP) in Orlando. Our goal is to distribute this video to as many police departments as possible across the country. At the 2010 IACP Conference, Donna Palomba, Founder of Jane Doe No More, shared her horrific story about the masked intruder who broke into her home and raped her as her two young children lay sleeping down the hall and why the treatment she experienced following the attack was in many ways more damaging than the rape itself.
Duty Trumps Doubt will serve as a reminder that every case and every victim is unique and things may not always be as they seem. This video can easily be incorporated during regular police department roll calls, academy training and for individual access by practitioners.
This has been an amazing collaborative of creative professionals, law enforcement officers, sexual assault survivors, educators, medical experts and college students. This experience has had a profound impact on everyone involved. With continued support, this will be the first of many multi-media tools developed by Jane Doe No More to raise awareness and educate everyone across the country, including our children.

Giving Wheel Campaign

Generous supporters of Jane Doe No More, Inc. who believe strongly in the mission to improve the way society responds to victims of sexual assault, will host giving wheel receptions to help sustain the organization for years to come. Events will be held in each of Connecticut’s eight counties, with generous donors serving as spokes of the wheel. Spokes will be asked to commit to a three year donation to ensure the continued growth and progress of Jane Doe No More. Only 3 years old, this 501c3 not for profit organization has already touched the lives of hundreds of thousands through the 2 hour NBC Dateline Special The Man Behind the Mask as well as thousands who have personally heard Donna’s horrific story and inspirational message to speak out. No More Blame. No More Shame. No More Fear.
A significant improvement in the way law enforcement responds to victims of sexual assault is underway. It began with the debut of Duty Trumps Doubt, at the 2010 IACP Conference in Orlando. The horrific experience that occurred in 1993, unimaginable by many, is the driving force behind one person making a difference – to improve the way society responds to victims of sexual assault. Duty Trumps Doubt will be viewed by hundreds of thousands of law enforcement officers in roll call rooms across the nation and will improve the way society responds to victims of sexual assault.
