This summer, Jane Doe No More brought together an extraordinary team of Broadway artists, filmmakers, musicians and designers to create UNSILENCED, a powerful new original movie musical inspired by the voices and experiences of survivors of sexual crimes.
Written and directed by award-winning director Daniel C. Levine, with music and lyrics by the extraordinary David Friedman, UNSILENCED explores the journey from silence to strength - and the courage it takes to reclaim one’s voice.
Rather than telling one individual story, the film draws inspiration from multiple survivor experiences to explore universal themes of fear, isolation, healing, resilience, connection, and hope. UNSILENCED illuminates not only what survivors have endured, but the extraordinary strength that can emerge when someone is finally able to speak, be heard, move forward and become "unsilenced".
Filming took place in Connecticut in August 2026 following an intensive rehearsal and development process. The film features an exceptional cast of Broadway stars, including Donna Vivino, Pearl Sun, Angel Lozada, Kyrie Courter, Laura Woyasz, John Devereaux, Shaylen Harger, Ruthy Frosch, and SJ Nelson.
The project was produced by Jane Doe No More, with Daniel C. Levine directing and Bryan Perri serving as Music Director/Supervisor.
With principal photography now complete, UNSILENCED enters post-production as the creative team prepares the film for its next chapter.

People often ask me how I do what I do every day.
It certainly isn’t something I chose, yet I believe it was something I was destined to do and I wouldn't change a thing. For me, the best path forward from a home invasion and rape followed by revictimization was to fight for justice. I believe we learn most from our greatest challenges. These challenges kept me going and gave me a greater purpose. It stirred in me a passion to fight for real and meaningful change. That is how Jane Doe No More was born.
Today, I am asking for your help. For 20 years Jane Doe No More has been empowering survivors to find their voice, advance their healing, and educate others. As we grow in strength and numbers, our collective voice gets louder. What started as a whisper, when I was barely able to speak, has grown to a roar.
