As president of Marx Communications, Inc., Wendy Marx brings her clients more than 20 years of professional experience as a public relations and marketing executive, and as a journalist. Over her 20+-year career, she has launched numerous business-to-business startups to become well-known industry brands, including marketing gurus Peppers & Rogers Group, Investars.com and TheStreet.com's equity research shop. Her public relations abilities are enhanced by high-caliber marketing and branding skills and professional writing experience.
Her firm was recognized for its work for two financial services startups, winning two first place Gold Mercury Awards from the Public Relations Society of America's New York and New England chapters. The firm's clients are regularly interviewed by CNBC, Barron's, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek and other major media worldwide, as well as by relevant trade and local publications.
Before founding Marx Communications in 1993, Wendy worked for AT&T and GE Capital in a variety of marketing and public relations managerial positions and was part of the team that helped develop the highly successful AT&T Universal Card.
Her technology and business articles have appeared in a number of publications, including The New York Times, Computerworld, InformationWeek, Brandweek and Advertising Age. She has also written advertorials for Fortune and Forbes on a variety of management topics. Her writing skills earned her a position teaching business writing at the University of Michigan Business School. She currently writes a blog on personal branding for Fast Company.
She has served on the board of the Public Relations Society of America's Westchester-Fairfield chapter. Several years ago she organized and ran a major marketing event under the auspices of the CT Marketing Group, an organization she founded. She and her firm always handle at least one pro bono project as a way of giving back to the community.
She has been a guest lecturer on public relations at The University of Connecticut and has run workshops on public relations for many Connecticut organizations from The Bridgeport Regional Business Council to Meeting Planners International.
She is a cum laude graduate of Brandeis University. She holds an MBA from the University of Michigan Business School and a master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
