Jim Van Hoof is vice president, finance and chief financial officer, at UTC Power Corporation, A United Technologies Company. He is responsible for the company's finance and information technology functions.
Jim joined UTC Power in 2006 from United Technologies' corporate headquarters, where he was director, tax - commercial business, overseeing global tax affairs of Carrier Corporation, Otis Elevator Company and UTC Power. He also served as principal tax advisor to UTC corporate strategy & development regarding mergers and acquisitions. Jim began his UTC career in 1992.
Prior to joining UTC, Jim worked with Coopers & Lybrand and Deloitte, Haskins & Sells.
Jim earned a bachelor of arts from Saint Anselm College, a juris doctor from Western New England College School of Law, a master of science degree from the University of Hartford and a master of laws (LLM) from Boston University School of Law.
Jim has served on the board of directors for Special Olympics Connecticut since 2000 including serving a 2 year term as chairman of the board. Jim was inducted into the Special Olympics Connecticut Hall of Fame and received the Susan Saint James Award for leadership.
Jim currently serves on the board of directors for Jane Doe No More, Inc.
